While the predominant opinion about Vidya Balan’s look in The Dirty Picture seems to be one of shock — where there is shock there is a lot of awe.
Several of Vidya’s contemporaries have stepped up and appreciated her for having had the guts to put on weight and pull off something like this. The latest admirer is hot actress Sonam Kapoor, who rushed to Vidya’s defence, criticising all those who’ve said negative things about her.
“It’s unfair to judge the film and the actor before the film has released. No one has watched the film yet, so no one has the right to criticise it,” Sonam said. “And besides, I don’t even think Vidya can ever look vulgar. The kind of films she has done is commendable.”
There aren’t too many Sonams out there though, and Vidya’s look has received a lot of criticism as well.
