It will be almost an year since a Mahesh movie released at box office, if 'One Nenokkadine' hits screens on January 10th 2014. Around the same Sankranthi season in 2013, his Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu released and fared well. However, with a mammoth budget being invested to make One under Sukumar's direction, it seems like there should be a strong positioning for the movie at box office.
Actually the initially idea of producers is to make Mahesh Babu's 'One Nenokkadine' come alone rather competing with many other movies at Box office in the coming Pongal season. There happens to be a reason behind this move, which anyway is not looking possible until a mega change takes place.
If One is releasing on January 10th, there are other movies like Allu Arjun's Race Gurram and Balakrishna's Legend that are eyeing the same week in a couple of days gap. In that case, One needs to compromise in terms of number of theatres. These days, a movie's stamina depends on how much it collects during its first weekend and first week, but there is no chance of making movies run for 50-100 days in theatres. To maximize revenues in the initial week, even the number of screens should be maximum and in the case of Mahesh's 'One' that will be missing for sure.
For the same reason, even the makers of 'One Nenokkadine' are said to be in talks with concerned producers and distributors either to request to move other stars aside. Also, there is a chance of Mahesh's movie getting pushed to February if he wants a solo release. Let us see what happens.
