NTR Junior, who is a powerhouse of talent, has been failing to deliver a blockbuster time and again. Since Simhadri, which was released a decade ago, NTR is struggling to score a hit equivalent to it. He has worked with star directors like Rajamouli, Vinayak, Puri, Srinu Vytla and promising directors like Surender Reddy Boyapati Srinu and Harish Shankar after Simhadri, but none of the films could fetch him a hit as big as Simhadri.
Off late NTR has been chasing hit directors and working with them by blindly believing in them. He worked with Surender Reddy twice after he scored hits with Atanokkade and Kick films. But Surender has let down NTR with Ashok and Oosaravelli. He has signed up Boyapati Srinu after Simha and the director failed with Dammu. He worked with Srinu Vytla soon after he delivered a big hit with Dookudu. Vytla simply followed his template in Badshah that didn't live up to expectations. Badshah ended up as a loss venture for the buyers who invested big bucks in it.
Now NTR's latest film Ramayya Vastavayya failed to impress critics as well as general audience. NTR trusted Harish Shankar who delivered a blockbuster with his previous film Gabbar Singh. But Harish let him down and thousands of NTR's fans. Maybe it is hightime for NTR to stop chasing directors that scored hits with their previous movies. He should start believing in subjects rather than director's track record. NTR's next movie is under Santosh Srinivas direction, whose first film Kandireega was a hit. Hope this young director doesn't take things lightly and gets it right for the sake of NTR.
