Going by latest reports, Rana Daggubati is likely to replace his cousin Naga Chaitanya in upcoming Telugu film. Touted to be the Telugu remake of Kannada film Charminar, Naga Chaitanya was the first choice. In fact, he had given his nod to the project. However, things didn't work out and Chaitanya has opted out of it.
The latest is that producer Sridhar has approached Rana for the role and the hunk hero has apparently agreed to be on the board. Director Chandru, who directed the original, is going to direct the remake as well.
Starring Premkumar and Meghana Gaonkar in the lead roles in Kannada, the film is more like an art film like Rana's earlier film Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. The film is about a man and his life in comparison to famous monument Charminar with four pillars- family, love interest, friends and he himself.
After all this is only buzz doing rounds in Film Nagar, an official confirmation is awaited from the production house. Looks like, Chaitu's loss is Rana's gain.
