Remember Renu Desai, the Badri heroine who sizzled opposite Pawan and made a mark for herself? She even paired up with Pawan in Johnny and worked together with him as his costume designer. Later the duo married and got two children Akhira Nandan and Aadhya. The buzz has it that both Renu and Pawan are staying away from each other for a while.
Renu is now producing a Marathi film as her mother tongue is Marathi. Speaking to media, Renu said, "Considering my background in Tollywood, if I'd produce a film there, it'd be good. But due to my roots in Pune and my passion for Marathi films, I'm venturing into production of Marathi films."
The title of her maiden movie is Mangalashtak Once More. Renu said, "For the past 10 to 15 years, I've been part of story discussions and music settings which gave me immense exposure on film-making. I should thank Kalyan (Pawan Kalyan) for that. With that experience, I'm producing this film."
Meanwhile, the talk is that Renu is being rough with people on sets. Reacting on it, Renu said, "It's okay for people if men scold women but otherwise, everyone make it an issue. I've asked them to improve many times but they didn't. Hence, I scolded them like any other boss does. If I'd have been silent, it'd be mistake and wrong doing for my film. I did it and it was misrepresented in media."
Looks like, Renu is sending signals that she wants to stand up on her own. Great going Renu, keep it up. Hope we will see new woman entrepreneur in days to come.
